I was trained as a clinical virologist by Albert Osterhaus at the Erasmus Medical Center in The Netherlands. My scientific background is in influenza antiviral research with publications in high impact journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. I have a multi-disciplinary and translation research focus ranging from virus discovery to complex host-pathogen interactions. For the last decade, I have worked in clinical and veterinary institutes studying zoonotic pathogens. I believe in a One-Health approach recognizing that human health is tightly connected to the health of animals and the environment.

I am an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial type manager with a broad experience in contract research. Over the past 20 years I’ve worked for different CROs in commercial and managerial roles.

Within Cores I am driven to bring a century of knowledge and expertise of animal health to the field of human pharmaceutical development. I am convinced that by combining both fields we can accelerate discoveries and develop innovative solutions.

My professional background lies in marketing and sales, with the last decade dedicated to driving business development in both multinational corporations and start-ups or scale-ups. I enjoy creating new things and transforming innovative ideas into commercial success. As an entrepreneur, I am fully aware that great results can only be achieved through collaboration with both knowledgeable and reliable partners.
